Converters prefer paper for its outstanding mechanical properties, packaging designers praise waxed paper for its wide variety in shade, opacity and color, and consumers enjoy paper packaging for its soft touch: the paper’s eye-catching visual properties differentiate product labels in displays and on vendors’ shelves, giving them a dazzling appeal that leads consumer to select.

The twisting paper range offers the unique possibility to match all needs. Mainly used for soft candies wrapping, with a substance ranging from 30 to 45 gsm, twisting papers are available in opaque and non opaque versions, both with exceptional mechanical properties. Despite being a low grammage paper, twisting paper has both very high tensile strength and tear, allowing good runnability. It also has a very high smoothness that allows ink consumption savings and the use of water based inks which are more environmentally friendly. In order to improve the softness of the material, highly appreciated by the consumer and necessary to allow the material to wrap around the candy, twisting paper is also specially designed to facilitate and emphasize the plasticizing treatment done by the converter before waxing. Other key properties such as smoothness, porosity, sizing, moisture, sheet formation and grammage, determine the quantity of wax absorbed by the paper (“the wax pick-up”). The wax coating is the perfect complement to the twisting paper. It provides the finished material with gloss, release (sweet), and dead fold in the twist (ability of the twist to keep closed).
