Duo of pickups for a spectrum of sonic colorings
Two Sire Super-T single-coil pickups in the neck and bridge positions deliver an impressive array of sonic colorings, from snappy and spanky to snarly, sweet, and singing — the classic T-style tone that won over legions of players for decades. An ideal duo for everything from funk to jazz to hard rock to country, these pickups can be driven hard without cracking up or played at a low volume for a pristine clean tone, making this guitar perfect for both the stage and the studio. And if you’re a fan of 1970s and ’80s Los Angeles studio-session guitar tone — arguably Mr. Carlton’s most prodigious studio years — you will hear that nostalgic sonic presentation instantly!
Roasted neck and fingerboard
Most players agree that a roasted neck makes quite a difference, removing tiny impurities in the wood that can have a subtle effect on its overall resonance. The roasted hard maple neck and fingerboard on this beauty are a testament to the results of this process. And rolled fingerboard edges and medium-jumbo frets ensure a supreme level of playability and response for hours of comfortable chording and effortless lead runs. The many guitarists here at Sweetwater who have test driven the T7 are blown away by the neck's classic feel and response.

This guitar is every bit as good as other reviewers state. I own just about every guitar a player could want but now the T7 has become my #1. Makes me think about adding another Sire or two to my arsenal. Love it!Rated 5/5
Great Tele
I just got one of these with the sunburst and it is one beautiful guitar! Not only does it look great but it plays like a dream and sounds great. The intonation was way off but that was easily fixed and I had to lower the action. After that I had to adjust to the fat neck. I also have the S7 and I love it too, but the neck on that is really different, much flatter. Both are great, but this Tele neck is really fun, I think the radius on this is really done well so it plays way faster than my Warmoth tele with a flat neck. The pickups are very bright but if you turn down the treble on the guitar they sound really great, really snappy tele sound. Both pickups are nice and the middle sound is good, just very bright. The carve in the back makes playing up high nice and the locking tuners seem good. So my initial impression is it's a steal! On the S7, the nut wasn't cut that great and I had some squeaking (I fixed it) but this one seems good. I am an old rocker and have played hundreds of good guitars and I think this rates with the top ones. It has the feel of a vintage guitar, it's hard to describe. Five stars from me.Rated 5/5
Sire Larry Carlton T7 Butterscotch
I'm totally LOVING this guitar!! I knew that when I ordered this guitar that there would be a wait before I could get it, Guys and Girls, it was TOTALLY worth the wait!!! I can't adequately describe the craftsmanship that went into the making of this guitar, it's simply OUTSTANDING, and is so FUN to play!!! Pickups and controls are first class in every way, and they actually WORK. I opted for the Sweetwater set up and I also purchased an SKB hard shell case with the TSA latches and I'm glad that I did as it is equally well made as the SUPERB guitar that will be in it!! Also, I read a review on this guitar awhile back and the writer stated that if You wanted the pickups to sound vintage, then LOWER them, want more modern, RAISE them. 100% True! I lowered the neck pup a touch to reduce the Bass output and it's perfect! I want to Sincerely Thank Sire Guitars and Larry Carlton for bringing "JOY" back to Guitar building, and for the Joy You have given me for MANY years Larry!!! And a HUGE Thank You to Mr. Jared Kalish and Sweetwater Music for once again FIVE STAR SERVICE!! That is why I keep coming back for MORE! No doubt we shall be speaking again Very Soon!!!!Rated 5/5
Amazing quality for the price
I found Sire through Youtube and saw they had a Tele style guitar. I'm usually a hum bucker type player and wanted to expand my sound range to single coil pickups without spending a lot of money. The quality of this instrument is better than a lot of Fenders and plays like butter while sounding really good. Would recommend to anyone!Rated 5/5
Amazing Value!
I have wanted to add a Telecaster style guitar to my collection. I was going through reviews of the Player and American Pro models when I came across a video talking about the the T7. After seeing all the features this packs, I decided to take the leap and order it. I am extremely happy and impressed with this guitar. The pictures don't do this guitar justice. There is a lot of grain coming through on the stain. The neck feels awesome and it is very easy to play. Pickups sound great through my Marshall DSL 40. My friend has a player series Tele and I much prefer the Sire to the Fender Player series. Only downside was it took about 8 months to get it. I would highly recommend this guitar.

Carlton began taking guitar lessons at the age of six and was discovered as a teenager playing in Los Angeles supper clubs. “I started getting calls for demo sessions, and at 16, 17 years old, I'd gone from playing in little clubs to being in the studio,” he once told Premiere Guitar.

In February 2010, Larry Carlton announced that after having had the distinct privilege of performing 12 years with Fourplay he has decided to take his leave to delve further into his solo career.
Eric Clapton learned to play the guitar on his own. He acquired no official instruction and did not take any courses. Instead, he would imitate the riffs of his favorite blues performers, record them, and playback each phrase. Eric Clapton learned by ear and was unfamiliar with music theory.
I was a Gibson player for many years. Then switched to the Strat only because I didn't want to get "lost" in the band's sound. THEN came "SWEET HOME ALABAMA." NO WAY can that song be written or played on a Gibson. Must be Divine Providence that led me to that Stratocaster.
In a number of videos from many of his social media accounts, James uses the instrument for short tutorials, general acoustic guitar purposes, as well as to flaunt the fact that he knows how to play the guitar.
